DESCRIPTION OF DUTIESUnder the general supervision of the Chief, Special Program, Virtual Campus for Public Health and the direct supervision of the Specialist, Virtual Collaboration and e-Learning, the incumbent is responsible for, but not necessarily limited to, the following assigned duties: a)Design, update and manage the main portal of the VCPH, its different virtual classrooms and other multiple sites, using free and open systems and in accordance with the ITS policies of the Organization; establish and maintain communication and provide training and technical assistance to the teams responsible for the portals of the country nodes; b)Provide technical support in the design and assembly of multimedia materials for virtual courses and work collaboratively with technical experts, universities or collaborating centers involved in the development of the courses; c)Coordinate all video recording, editing and assembly processes, as well as keep the VCPH YouTube channel updated and organized, following institutional policy; prepare guidelines, terms of reference in contracting processes for video production companies;d)Manage the selection and use of systems for videoconferencing services used for webinars, lectures, and meetings, within VCPH classrooms, considering criteria of cost, effectiveness, compatibility with VCPH classrooms, capacity for registration and certification of participants; e)Coordinate face-to-face and virtual activities for the training of tutors and the orientation with the Virtual Campus platforms; f)Manage the accounts of communication services, marketing channels and social media networks in coordination with the Communications Department; g)Work on the development of positioning strategies for the Campus and its courses; analyze the movement and visits to the VCPH portals, using different types of search engines and other resources; h)Recommend the introduction of new e-learning multimedia products, software and systems to optimize and keep the VCPH updated; i)Coordinate the operation of the VCPH Help Desk and guarantee the operation of the system; prepare regular reports that allow decisions to be made to optimize user enrollment processes and report difficulties in navigating courses; j)Recommend, test and customize new plugins and themes for Drupal and Moodle for website optimization, visualization and better customer experience; k)Carry out quality control, testing the navigation and visualization of the Campus courses and making recommendations for new designs; seeks clarification from supervisor on timelines, as needed.Uses feedback and inputs from supervisor to achieve results.Produces quality results and has frequent discussions with supervisor to achieve results.Is action-oriented and sees tasks through to completion.Shows understanding of own role and responsibilities in relation to expected results.Solicits and accepts direction and guidance from supervisor and team members and takes responsibility for own work and actions, as appropriate.Technical Expertise:–Extensive knowledge of multimedia edition and design software programs and services, such as graphic, audio, animation, video edition and design tools.–Knowledge and skills in web design, web standards, maintenance, update, configuration and troubleshooting.–Knowledge in instructional design, education, digital learning, multimedia and website development.–Theoretical and practical knowledge of Content Management Systems (CMS) and Learning Management Systems (LMS) especially Moodle and Drupal.–Theoretical and practical knowledge in strategic use of social networks, especially with google analytics.–Strong professional oral and writing skills, including the development of reports, oral presentations, and technical/persuasive documents related to VCPH activities for consideration at the highest levels of the Organization.–Ability to integrate managerial and administrative inputs into recommendations for decision-making process; ability to work independently and to manage multiple assignments simultaneously in a complex organizational environment.Languages:Very good knowledge of English or Spanish with a working knowledge of the other language.Knowledge of French and/or Portuguese would be an asset.IT Skills:Demonstrated ability to effectively use current technology and software programs such as Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.Theoretical and practical knowledge of hardware platforms, operational systems (Windows, MacOS, Linux, Unix), e-learning authoring software (Articulate Storyline, Rise, iSpring, Captivate), video editing software programs (iMovie, Final Cut Pro), graphics editor and design program (Illustrator, Photoshop), digital audio workstation (Audition), web development technologies (Browsers, HTML & CSS, Data formats) and video teleconferencing service (Teams, WebEx, Zoom).Practical knowledge to edit and assemble in different CMS and LMS.Experience as an editor in Moodle and Drupal.
