CLICK HERE TO APPLY The Opportunity Save the Children International are currently recruiting an Emergency Preparedness Advisor which can be based in any existing Save the Children globally, with up to 15% international travel.

As a key member of Save the Children International’s Humanitarian Preparedness and Response Team, the Emergency Preparedness Advisor will lead global preparedness processes and activities. Working closely with immediate team members, as well regional, member, and colleagues at country-level, he/she will proactively push the preparedness agenda, seeking to promote and continually improve the organisation’s understanding of and buy-in to preparedness, in line with our commitment to respond quickly, effectively and with quality.
The role holder will work across the Save the Children movement to support and champion the utilisation of predictive forecasting at global, regional and country levels. The position will also support country and regional teams to develop Early Action plans and advocate for no-regrets implementation of these plans when humanitarian crises are likely to occur.
In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.

The role holder may also be required to directly support responses.

In order to be successful you will bring/have:
Field–based humanitarian experience gained within multiple emergency response contexts
Thorough working knowledge of emergency preparedness approaches and activities, as well as Early Action
Prior experience working in challenging circumstances
Ability to engage and influence senior decision makers at all levels of organisation
Experienced facilitator with style and approach that can change with audience
Demonstrable planning and co-ordination skills
Experience of ensuring adherence to organisational policy, practice and systems
Proven ability to drive continuous improvement and develop new ways of working
Highly developed relationship building, influencing and interpersonal skills
Adaptable working style; effective when working in situations that may appear ambiguous

The salary will be in the region of £46,500 to £50,000 plus a benefits package including a contributory pension and 30-days of annual leave plus public holidays.The OrganisationWe employ approximately 25,000 people across the globe and work on the ground in over 100 countries to help children affected by crises, or those that need better healthcare, education and child protection.
